ASBL 22 – June 3, 2025, Lukas Ventouras, 2026 Candidate
Lukas Ventouras is running as a Democrat for Congress in New York State’s 1st District (a big part of Long Island, especially Suffolk County).
We discussed his reasons for running, what the people in his district are thinking and feeling, why FDR was an admirable leader, Alexander Hamilton’s American System of economics (and how it unleashed the creative and economic potential of the American people), and the problems that the American Small Business League is trying to solve.
“Lukas Ventouras is a first-generation American, product of Greek immigrants. East Northport is his true home … embodying everything about this district and the people who raised him. In 2023, Lukas graduated from NYU, majoring in history and minoring in broadcast journalism … He will shortly finish his education at St. John's University School of Law … [he] gained valuable experience working in the Law Offices of Frederick Brewington … where he [delivered] a seminar on Project 2025 to a team of lawyers and community leaders. He also served as president of St. John's chapter of the American Constitution Society. [He] interned in the Flushing office of Congresswoman Grace Meng. [He feels that it is] time for a new voice in Long Island politics, one who has a vision for our shared future.”

The American Small Business League believes that the winning issue in 2026 will be the fact that women are 50% of the population and own 42% of all businesses – but firms owned by men have received over 95% of all federal contracts for decades. Giving women 25% of federal small business contracts (not 5%) would create a 100% increase in net new jobs and prompt a dramatic economic boom – for free, requiring no new taxes or spending. In other words, deficit neutral.
Elections are won and lost by 1% to 2% of the vote. Appealing to women and fair-minded voters with a common-sense way to significantly boost the small business economy is a winning campaign strategy.
99.9% of all US firms are small businesses. The only way to make America great is to help small businesses.
Every year, hundreds of billions of dollars in federal contracts meant for small businesses go to big businesses instead, and the SBA falsely claims that small businesses got the contracts. Small businesses would create two million new jobs every year to perform those contracts. (Big businesses don’t create jobs for those contracts because they are already big.)
The American Small Business League is the strongest voice in America protecting the interests of the nation’s 34.7 million small businesses. Our 100+ legal victories have exposed rampant fraud in federal small business programs. In the national media and federal courts, the ASBL has had a larger presence than all other organizations that claim to represent the interest of small businesses combined. Learn more at ASBL.com.
